Job summary

Tracsis is seeking an experienced Senior Data Specialist to lead data processes across the organisation. The role requires expertise in data engineering, modelling, and governance and may suit candidates with scientific or environmental data backgrounds.

You will develop data workflows, ensure data quality, and support reporting and analytics using tools like Power BI, Python or R, in a collaborative environment across global teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with data tools and relational databases (SQL Server).
• Strong data modelling and database design knowledge.
• Experience building data pipelines and processes.
• Knowledge of end-to-end data lifecycle (ingestion to governance).
• Ability to translate requirements into technical data solutions.
• Experience with data quality and security practices.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with scientific or environmental datasets.
• Experience with Power BI, SSRS, Jupyter Notebooks, Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain understanding of data assets, systems, sources and data flows.
• Gather requirements and translate into data solutions and workflows.
• Design, implement and document data ingestion, transformation, validation and integration processes.
• Define and monitor data quality standards, controls and metrics.
• Support data governance activities, including metadata and documentation.
• Coordinate data processes across the full data lifecycle.
• Ensure data security, access controls, retention and recovery procedures.
• Provide technical expertise for data analysis, reporting and visualization.
