Job summary

Northern Trust seeks an experienced compliance professional to maintain and embed a robust compliance framework for its Ireland entities, collaborating with global teams to ensure regulatory obligations are met. The role involves advisory support, governance participation, and reporting to senior leadership.

You will deliver risk assessments, monitoring programmes and regulatory engagement, while building strong relationships with Legal, Risk, Audit Services and Finance.

Qualifications

• Compliance monitoring, audit, risk or control experience; advisory support to business areas is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Ireland/EU regulations and regulatory developments relating to fund service providers is advantageous.
• Capable of decision making, applies sound judgement and knows how/when to elevate.
• Ability to operate within strict reporting deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
• Influencing and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong learning agility with a desire to support others.
• Motivated self-starter and team player.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Senior support to the Head of Compliance in embedding a comprehensive compliance framework for the Ireland entities.
• Depose for or support the Head of Compliance at governance forums, senior management meetings, risk committees and board forums.
• Provide senior compliance advice and practical guidance to business stakeholders on regulatory obligations and control effectiveness.
• Prepare clear, concise management information for Executive, Risk Committee, Board and governance reporting.
• Drive the Compliance Risk Assessment framework and coordinate global standards with regional and global teams.
• Support the Annual Compliance Assurance Programme and Compliance Monitoring Programme for relevant entities; perform monitoring reviews.
• Assist in regulatory engagement, including meetings and information requests to the Central Bank of Ireland; prepare materials for boards and senior management.
• Build relationships with Senior Management, Legal, Risk, Audit Services and Finance; understand entity operations and regulatory changes.
