Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group in Dublin seeks a seasoned Commercial Leader to drive the commercial management of large-scale projects from pre-construction through final account. You will lead project quantity surveying teams, oversee contract administration, cost control, change management and reporting, and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders to maximise profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• 8-10 years' experience in commercial roles within the construction industry.
• Experience with a Tier 1 General Contractor on major commercial, industrial, data centre or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement strategies, cost management and commercial risk mitigation.
• Proven track record of managing project commercial performance and leading high-performing commercial teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of large-scale construction projects from pre-construction through to final account agreement.
• Manage and develop project quantity surveying teams, providing guidance, mentoring and commercial leadership.
• Oversee contract administration, risk management, cost control, change management and commercial reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor packages, claims, variations and contractual matters in line with project requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, design and project delivery teams to maximise commercial performance and profitability.
