Job summary

Howden Ireland, based in Athlone, is seeking a Senior Account Executive to own a portfolio of high-value commercial clients. The role focuses on renewals, retention and strategic growth, including cross-selling opportunities.

You will lead client meetings, negotiate terms with insurers, and provide advisory support on complex risk matters. You will be an experienced professional with 8+ years in commercial insurance, holding CIP qualification, and capable of mentoring junior colleagues while

Qualifications

8+ years' experience in a commercial insurance broking or underwriting role.
CIP qualification is a necessity.
Strong technical knowledge across commercial insurance products and the Irish market.
Proven track record in client retention, portfolio growth and new business generation.
Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with key commercial clients as trusted advisor on insurance and risk matters.
Lead renewal and retention strategies while identifying opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.
Lead end-to-end renewal process for complex commercial risks including market engagement and negotiations.
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve revenue targets.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development initiatives.
