Job summary

Cpl Group seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join our growing cybersecurity team in a hands-on, senior role focused on cloud security, security engineering, and security operations. The role supports remote work in Ireland with occasional travel to Kerry HQ.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing security controls across Azure environments, developing secure cloud infrastructure with Terraform, leading threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in Cybersecurity, Cloud Security, or Security Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure security.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and IAM technologies.
• Scripting experience with Python and/or PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and modern threat landscapes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across Microsoft Azure environments.
• Develop and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Lead threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management activities.
• Enhance SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and IAM capabilities using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and Cortex/XSIAM.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to embed security best practices.
• Mentor team members and contribute to security architecture and threat modelling initiatives.
