Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Associate, Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen security across cloud environments in Ireland, focusing on Policy as Code and Infrastructure as Code. You will implement security controls, leverage CSPM tools, and collaborate with security champions to embed secure practices within development teams.

The role covers Azure and AWS security design, PaC/IaC development with Terraform, and ongoing governance, audits, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience in public cloud engineering or development roles.
• Strong IaC skills with Terraform and security policy enforcement.
• Python-based DevOps tooling knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with CIS/NIST 800-53 frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support security measures for cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) emphasizing security controls.
• Develop PaC and IaC using Terraform with policy alignment to CIS/NIST.
• Utilize CSPM tools such as Wiz and Defender for Cloud to monitor and enforce controls.
• Collaborate with security champions across units to address security needs.
• Contribute to cloud security roadmap and conduct configuration reviews and audits.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
