Job summary

AMCS Group is seeking a Database Administrator in Dublin to join a dynamic engineering team. The role focuses on maintaining reliable, scalable databases and collaborating on architecture decisions to ensure optimal customer experience.

You will work with SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and PostgreSQL across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Strong SQL and scripting skills are essential, with data security and compliance at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a Database Administration or related role with cloud experience.
• Good knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Progressive experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL with cloud DB management.
• Strong SQL skills (T-SQL, PL/pgSQL) and scripting in PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog).

Responsibilities

• Administer, manage, and maintain SQL databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Design, implement and manage cloud database infrastructure.
• Automate tasks with scripting (PowerShell, Python).
• Monitor and optimise database performance across a large estate.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely solutions.
• Collaborate with dev teams to build robust DB solutions.
• Act as SME during live incidents and ensure data security and compliance.
• Undertake database project work as needed.
