Job summary

Alpine Recruitment Group seeks a Senior Engineer for a major civil engineering project in Newry. The role involves coordinating site teams, managing multiple work packages, and ensuring delivery to programme, quality, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of civil/groundworks experience, and prior senior/site engineer exposure. Full Irish driving licence is required. Competitive package and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering or groundworks.
• Previous experience at Senior Engineer or Site Engineer level.
• Experience managing sections of work and subcontractors independently.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Full Irish driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Oversee multiple work packages from commencement through to completion.
• Monitor progress against programme and address any issues that may affect delivery.
• Manage subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
• Attend site and project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with H&S, quality and environmental requirements.
• Assist with planning, procurement and resource allocation across the project portfolio
• Review drawings, specifications and construction information, and raise RFIs where needed.
• Maintain strong quality control, with accurate inspection, test and as-built records.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, clients, consultants and local authorities as required.
