Job summary

AA Euro Group is seeking a Senior Engineer to join a leading Tier One contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across Ireland. Both permanent and contract positions are available, with a focus on overseeing site engineering activities and mentoring engineers on site.

You will supervise site operations, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, review drawings and RAMS, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive progress against programme milestones while providing

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Total Stations, GPS surveying equipment, and Microsoft Office.
• Full driving licence.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership is desirable.
• Safe Pass and First Aid certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Site supervision and engineering coordination.
• Management of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Health and safety leadership.
• Client and stakeholder liaison.
• Lead site engineering activities and provide technical guidance to engineers and supervisors.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Ensure setting-out works are completed accurately and in accordance with design requirements.
• Coordinate design information and resolve technical queries with consultants and designers.
• Oversee temporary works requirements and ensure appropriate approvals are in place.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to achieve programme milestones.
• Monitor daily progress and productivity against project schedules.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Assist in the preparation and review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).
• Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances as required.
• Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs) are followed.
• Provide technical input for variations and change management.
• Monitor resource utilisation and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Support commercial teams with progress reporting and claims preparation.
• Manage and mentor Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Junior Engineers.

What do you bring to the role?

Essential:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations and industry standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Total Stations, GPS surveying equipment, and Microsoft Office.
