Job summary

• Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Minimum 7 years post-graduate experience.
• Chartered Engineer status (required).
• Experience in renewable energy projects is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors and external stakeholders.
• Highly motivated, proactive and collaborative, with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects in line with programmes, quality standards and client budgets.
• Coordinate the preparation of CAD design documentation with Project Engineers and Technicians.
• Participate in site meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with internal QA and management systems.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety legislation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.

The Opportunity

An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing Energy team.

The successful candidate will contribute to a diverse portfolio of energy and renewable infrastructure projects, including onshore and offshore wind, utility-scale solar PV, biomass, micro-hydro, battery storage systems, gas pipelines, peaking plants and energy-from-waste facilities.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the energy and planning sector, supporting project management, environmental assessments and preliminary civil design for renewable energy developments, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects in accordance with agreed programmes, quality standards and client budgets.
• Oversee and coordinate the preparation of CAD design documentation, working closely with Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
• Participate in site meetings with clients and other project stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with internal Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with colleagues across multidisciplinary project teams to support successful project delivery.

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years' post-graduate experience.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience managing preliminary civil design for renewable energy projects is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
• Proven experience liaising with clients, subcontractors and external stakeholders.
• Highly motivated, proactive and adaptable, with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Full, clean driving licence.
