Job summary

Design Build Search is seeking a Senior Site Engineer in Dublin to support the Construction Management Team and ensure on-site control and delivery of building elements of projects. You will oversee setting-out engineers, verify shuttering, reinforcement, and dimensions, and coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and consultants while maintaining safety and quality on site.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, at least four years' experience with a main contractor, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as Site Engineer with a Main Contractor.
• Experience using setting-out equipment (total stations, GPS, laser levels).
• Knowledge of temporary works coordination.

Responsibilities

• Supervise setting-out team to ensure accurate, efficient works.
• Inspect shuttering, reinforcement, and dimensions before pours; maintain records.
• Review plans to verify calculations and design compliance.

Senior Site Engineer - Dublin - Building Construction

The Senior Site Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Construction Management Team, ensuring effective on-site control and successful delivery of the building elements of construction projects. This position involves technical oversight, coordination of site activities, and leadership of site engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise setting out engineers to ensure works are delivered accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect shuttering, reinforcement, and dimensional compliance prior to concrete pours, and maintain accurate materials reconciliation records.
• Review plans and drawings to verify accuracy of calculations and ensure compliance with design and specifications.
• Liaise with subcontractors, clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders to coordinate site activities.
• Oversee quality control measures and ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and site procedures.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role with a Main Contractor.
• Proven experience using setting-out equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels.
• Strong knowledge of temporary works coordination.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently and use initiative in solving problems.
• Full drivers licence
