Job summary

Valeo in Tuam, Ireland, is seeking a Camera Tuning Engineer to drive planning, development and delivery of best-in-class camera tuning projects within the automotive imaging domain.

You will lead weekly reviews, grow the tuning team and collaborate with Systems and Software teams to ensure milestones, design reviews and validations are met.

The role requires deep imaging, ISP, optics knowledge and strong programming; experience with embedded devices and PC-based simulation tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Camera Tuning experience with a proven track record.
• Strong understanding of Imaging and Image Signal Processing.
• Understand of Optics Fundamentals.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW etc.
• Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Specialisation in Imaging, Signal Processing, Optics or Computer Vision is a plus.
• Experience with embedded devices (ARM, DSP).
• Automotive industry experience.
• Experience with PC-based simulation tools.
• Experience developing software for embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, development and delivery of camera tuning projects ensuring milestones are met.
• Host weekly reviews to align timing, maturity and risks.
• Grow and develop the Camera Tuning Team and lab infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and improve tuning development processes.
• Translate customer requirements into internal system and software specs.
• Coordinate with Systems and Software Architects for traceability of requirements.
• Validate image quality to industry standards and automotive regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement and support supplier, NPI and production activities.
