Job summary

Jacobs in Dublin is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join our Transport and Planning team. You will produce and coordinate high‑quality CAD outputs for urban road, street and active travel projects.

The role requires strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience, a background in urban street design, and the ability to manage multiple drawing packages while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a CAD Technician on roads, streets, or urban infrastructure schemes.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (essential).
• Background in active travel, public realm, or urban street design projects.
• Solid understanding of road layouts, junction geometry, levels, cross sections, and construction detailing.
• Ability to work accurately at pace and manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate high‑quality CAD outputs across the full project lifecycle, including general arrangements, alignments, cross sections & detailed design drawings.
• Prepare junction layouts, traffic management plans, signing & lighting.
• Create 2D and 3D CAD deliverables across feasibility, design and construction stages.
• Coordinate CAD information across multiple streams such as Drainage, Lighting, Landscaping, Traffic signals and structure.
• Lead on self‑checks, peer reviews, and ensure drawings are right first time.
• Assist with drawing registers, submissions, and revision management.
• Respond to audits and technical reviews.
• Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior CAD technicians.
