Job summary

MSD Ireland is seeking a Senior Specialist in Bioprocess & Technical Engineering to lead facility readiness, mass balances, and platform standardisation across the manufacturing network. You will partner with internal sites and external partners to enable scalable biologics production and technology transfer.

With 7+ years in biologics manufacturing, you will drive data‑driven decisions, mentor teams, and shape future manufacturing roadmaps while upholding GMP and quality standards in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, biological sciences or related field required.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or technology transfer.
• Strong technical understanding of biologics manufacturing processes, equipment and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility-fit and manufacturing readiness assessments for new products against site capabilities.
• Develop and own process mass balances and capacity models for feasibility and lifecycle performance.
• Drive technology identification, platform alignment and standardisation across the network.
• Establish and govern platform technology standards to maximise transferability and operational excellence.
• Support digital engineering tools for data-driven decision making in facility fit, mass balance, capacity planning and tech transfer.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams and external partners.
• Lead cross-functional assessments supporting new product introductions and manufacturing changes.
• Drive continuous improvement through engineering standards and scalable approaches.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps, capital investments and due diligence for new products and partnerships.
• Foster engineering excellence with rigorous knowledge sharing and accountability.
