Job summary

Huawei Ireland Research Center is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer for the Game Rendering Acceleration Lab. The role focuses on low-level analysis and implementation to improve rendering in shipped game binaries on Huawei devices, spanning mobile and laptop platforms.

The candidate will perform reverse engineering and development, examining binaries to understand rendering behavior on Huawei hardware and applying changes to boost performance, stability, or visuals.

Qualifications

• Strong systems programming, C/C++ and assembly basics.
• Experience with reverse engineering and binary analysis.
• Good understanding of graphics pipelines and low-level APIs.
• Familiarity with modern GPU architectures.
• Ability to work with incomplete/undocumented systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze compiled game binaries to trace rendering pipelines on Huawei devices.
• Use reverse engineering tools to decompile and annotate low-level code.
• Investigate driver behavior, scheduling, and memory usage for rendering workloads.
• Identify device-specific rendering logic and bottlenecks on Huawei chipsets.
• Implement code-level changes and validate via profiling and debugging.
• Extend rendering behavior with hooks or patches when source is unavailable.
• Translate findings into actionable engineering tasks and work with teammates.
• Build small tools to support analysis and implementation.
