Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment Ireland is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team delivering scalable, enterprise-grade software solutions in Dublin. You will design and build robust backend services, working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

You’ll own key components, contribute to architectural decisions, and help evolve complex platforms using Python, Django/FastAPI/Flask, REST, and modern CI/CD practices, with Docker/Kubernetes

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development with Python and Django/FastAPI/Flask.
• Experience building production apps in a collaborative Agile team.
• Strong REST, microservices, and distributed design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications and API services.
• Contribute to scalable, secure and high-quality software solutions.
• Work with developers, architects and stakeholders on technical initiatives.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement.
