Job summary

Toast is seeking an experienced backend engineer to help build and scale the labor cost and timekeeping platforms that influence labor spend for thousands of restaurant locations. You’ll work on mission-critical infrastructure supporting millions of employees and operators across Toast restaurants.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with large-scale, data-intensive systems and contribute to an architecture modernization to support rapid growth and faster development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of back-end experience with object-oriented languages such as Java or Kotlin.
• Experience owning and operating production systems.
• Track record of solving ambiguous, high-impact challenges.
• Ability and motivation to learn quickly and apply knowledge to real problems.
• Desire to take on challenging projects and build scalable systems.
