Job summary

Holafly is hiring a Back-end Engineer to own the development of our global connectivity platform. You will build high-performance APIs that scale to millions of users, using Python, Django and DRF, while driving quality with robust unit tests and automated checks.

You will join the IT Delivery team in Ireland, work on cross-border collaborations, and optimize data access patterns to ensure resilience during peak travel seasons. A strong focus on performance and clean architecture is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend development with Django/DRF.
• Experience designing microservices architectures.
• Experience with asynchronous programming and high-load queries.
• Based in Ireland or willing to relocate with valid work visa.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimise mission-critical microservices using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Engineer Quality Frameworks by implementing robust unit testing (Pytest) and automated quality checks.
• Architect scalable APIs from scratch to handle high-concurrency traffic.
• Eliminate technical debt by resolving performance bottlenecks, including N+1 queries and async tasks.
• Collaborate with Product and QA teams across borders to translate business logic into robust solutions.
• Champion best practices across the software life-cycle, from design to code reviews.
