Job summary

Phorest Software, a Dublin-based product-led SaaS company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on backend development. You will help shape the next generation of the PhorestPay checkout, strengthening payment flows and supporting new revenue models for salons and clinics.

You’ll collaborate with Checkout, Payments Integrations, Product and Design to deliver reliable, maintainable systems, while guiding architecture and cross-team initiatives in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Senior backend engineer with 7+ years of experience
• Proficient in at least one OO or functional language such as Java, Kotlin or TypeScript
• Experience designing distributed systems, RESTful APIs and message-driven integrations

Responsibilities

• Own key backend systems and domains within Pay, shaping architecture and evolution
• Lead design and delivery of complex backend solutions and integrations
• Break down ambiguous problems and identify risks and dependencies early
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering to balance reliability, maintainability and value
• Lead cross-team technical initiatives and communicate decisions clearly
• Champion test-driven development, CI/CD and observability to improve reliability
• Mentor engineers and raise standards through code reviews and knowledge sharing
