Job summary

Genesys is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design, develop and operate high-throughput backend services in Java, deployed on AWS. You will own services end-to-end, contribute to observability and runbooks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across AI, product, security and SRE.

This on-site Galway role requires 2–3 days in the office weekly. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in CS (or equivalent) and 4+ years of backend experience with strong Java, REST/gRPC,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years building backend or platform software with ownership.
• Strong Java experience and experience on AWS infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own well-defined backend services end-to-end, including APIs, events, storage and caching.
• Deliver features from discovery to GA with testing, documentation and reviews.
• Build for scale with observability, SLOs, runbooks and incident response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI, Product, Security and SRE.
