Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – Data Core in Ireland to build and operate infrastructure powering a large-scale creator data platform.

You’ll own end-to-end backend systems that collect data on hundreds of millions of creator profiles across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with a remote-first, async mindset and substantial autonomy. Qualifications

• Proven experience building large-scale backend or data systems.
• Ability to take systems from concept to production end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and fault tolerance.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and external dependencies.
• Operational ownership with observability and runbooks.
• Independent problem solving on ambiguous challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience with AWS and backend tech TypeScript/Node.js.
• Knowledge of databases, queues, object storage, and IaC.
• Bonus: social-media APIs or data-quality frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve backend systems collecting 400M+ creator profiles across major platforms.
• Develop reliable collection infrastructure for billions of data points.
• Design resilient services against API instability and outages.
• Improve economics by optimizing requests, proxies, and storage.
• Determine who, when, and how often to collect to balance value and cost.
• Own backend systems through design, deployment, and operation.
• Build observability, alerts, and data-quality safeguards.
• Collaborate with data, search, product, and engineering teams.
• Evaluate approaches via production experiments considering throughput and scalability.
• Contribute to engineering standards and technical direction.
