Job summary

Henry Schein is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer / Cloud Architect to design scalable, secure cloud infrastructure for enterprise data and API platforms. The role is hands-on, shaping architectural direction and engineering standards.

You will lead cloudnative architectures on Azure, implement IaC, CI/CD workflows, and secure environments while collaborating with Data and API teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Deep expertise in Azure (AWS/GCP experience is a plus).
• Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, IAM, and distributed systems.
• Experience building and supporting production‑grade cloud platforms.
• Preferred AZ-305 or equiavlent certification.
• Experience supporting data platforms (Databricks, Spark) and API ecosystems.
• Familiarity with platform engineering concepts and internal developer platforms (IDPs).
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, etc.).
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-native architectures on Azure to support data platforms, APIs, and microservices.
• Build and manage IaC using Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows for infra and platform services.
• Architect and implement secure cloud environments including IAM, networking, encryption, policy controls.
• Partner with Data and API Engineering teams to ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Lead hands-on containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Establish observability practices with logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Drive cloud cost optimization (FinOps) including rightsizing and scaling strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues across environments.
• Establish governance and operational models across architecture and operations.
