GEA Systems North America is hiring a Senior Automation Engineer in Ireland to lead design, implementation and commissioning of automation solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other process industries. You will guide projects from concept through FAT/SAT to handover, with a focus on safety, standardisation and continuous improvement.
The role requires strong PLC programming skills (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000), experience with SCADA/HMI (WinCC, Ignition,
Qualifications
- Degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering.
- Minimum 5–10 years' experience delivering automation solutions in a process environment.
- Strong PLC programming experience with Siemens or Rockwell.
- Experience with SCADA and HMI platforms such as WinCC, Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware and FactoryTalk.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Responsabilités
- Lead automation project delivery from concept to site acceptance.
- Ensure budgets are controlled and forecast spending tracked.
- Deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare technical documentation including FDS, BOM, risk assessments.
- Design and implement PLC, HMI, SCADA, OT and MES solutions.
- Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning and performance validation.
- Train customer personnel on solution functionality.
- Provide automation support and after-sales service.
