Job summary

Glan Agua is seeking Automations and Control Engineers to join our Head Office in Loughrea, Co. Galway. You will contribute to PLC design, SCADA and HMI development, and work within a multidisciplinary team on multiple projects.

This role requires strong HSQE compliance, on-site commissioning, and hands‑on fault finding. You will prepare design and test documentation, support FAT/SAT sign‑offs, and mentor junior engineers as you progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in automation/controls engineering, preferably in water/wastewater.
• Degree or equivalent in Automation Engineering or related field.
• Strong PLC/SCADA programming and on-site commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test PLC architecture and control networks.
• Develop HMI and SCADA applications for plant-wide control.
• Lead FAT/SAT activities and documentation for project sign-off.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers.
• Ensure HSQE standards and on-site safety compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and troubleshoot issues.
