Job summary

Cognizant Life Sciences Manufacturing in Ireland is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer for client-site front-line support. The role focuses on DeltaV-based process automation within biopharma environments, including design, testing, configuration of recipes and interlocks, and on-site qualification activities.

You will lead projects, liaise with clients on design issues, and coordinate installation qualification and SAT with the on-site team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree-qualified automation engineer with pharma experience.
• DeltaV experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is required or highly desirable.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile practices is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design, test specs for process control.
• Configure and test DeltaV recipes, phases, interlocks.
• Review design specs with the client and implement changes.
• Support installation qualification and SAT at client site.
• Participate in on-site automation and on-call support.
• Coordinate tasks to ensure timely delivery.
• Apply ISA 88 and GAMP guidance throughout projects.

Job description

Cognizant (LSMG) are currently executing a number of projects services for large Biotech and Pharma clients in Ireland. We are looking for dedicated innovative and driven talent to join our expanding teams. We require a Lead Automation Engineer required for the Client site to join their Front line support activities.

Responsibilities

• Generation and modification of Functional specification, Design and Test Specifications for Procedural and Physical Layer.
• Configuration and Testing of Recipes, Phases, Equipment Modules, Control Logic and Interlock Scheme based on Design and Test Specifications.
• Interact with customer for Reviewing Design Specifications and Test Specifications.
• Work as part of a team for Installation Qualification and operational Qualification (SAT) at client site.
• Automation Project Support including, Coding, Design and Testing.
• Support of on-site DeltaV System.
• Initiating, Implementing and Qualifying sites changes.
• Out of hours On-call Automation Support.
• Member of the On site Shift Support team.
• Co-ordination of tasks to ensure timely delivery.
• Process Automation project experience with the DeltaV platform
• Understanding of Process Automation implementation in a Pharma/Biotech environment.
• Familiarity with ISA 88 and GAMP
• Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SCADA, PLCs, HMI, APIs, SQL software and systems is not required but desirable.
• 5+ years relevant DeltaV experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry

Qualifications

• Suitability degree-qualified automation engineer with over 2 years pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.

• Expert understanding on all Project Lifecycle phases and tasks.
• Ability to liaise directly with client on design issues.
• Track record demonstrating an ability to lead a complete project.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Thorough understanding of system (installing, rebuilding etc.).
