Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Area Lead Delta V Engineer to join our Automation Team in Limerick for a multinational biotech client. You will lead design, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of DeltaV control strategies, ensuring GMP/CSV compliance and project readiness.

The role requires 5+ years in pharma/biotech automation, DCS experience, and proven leadership of software or project teams. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver validated solutions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

5+ years experience as Automation Engineer/Control Systems Engineer or related
Knowledge of GAMP lifecycle and quality processes in pharma/biotech
Experience with DCS or PLC software design
Leadership abilities and team collaboration
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in chemical/electrical/bioprocess engineering or related field
Proven experience with validation/CSV mindset

Responsibilities

Study functional requirements and control strategies for control systems.
Define testing requirements and supervise internal testing.
Prepare test cases for validation activities.
Maintain validated state of site control systems per Lilly quality standards.
Design, build, configure and validate DCS Foxboro platform.
Upgrade legacy AIM Historian to Wonderware Historian.
Develop migration protocols for legacy Foxboro platform.
Configure Foxboro DCS applications and software (Alarm Manager, FoxView, Access Levels).
Pi Vision displays configuration.
Analyze legacy Foxboro DCS configuration and prepare upgrade specs.
