Job summary

NETGEAR is seeking an experienced Android engineer to design and develop features across the Android app, focusing on scalability, performance and usability. You will own initiatives end to end, coordinating with cloud and embedded teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.

You will build and maintain test coverage (unit, integration, UI) and contribute to architectural decisions while championing CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android development experience (Kotlin/Java) with leadership on cross-functional projects.
• Strong knowledge of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system integrations.
• Experience building scalable, testable, reusable Android applications.
• Proficiency in Material Design and modern, responsive UIs.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, cloud-embedded systems, and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features across NETGEAR's Android applications with focus on scalability, performance, and usability.
• Own initiatives end to end, coordinating with cloud and embedded counterparts for cohesive products.
• Build and maintain test coverage (unit, integration, UI) and support manual QA.
• Apply engineering judgement to solve complex problems and propose improvements.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and influence the app's technical direction.
• Champion best practices including code reviews and modern CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
• Mentor and support other engineers as an informal technical lead.
• Seek out new tools and AI development practices across the SDLC.
