Job summary

NETGEAR is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own and shape the mobile experience across our Android apps. You will drive complex features from conception to delivery, collaborate with cloud, embedded, and QA teams, and ensure scalable, high-quality software that users rely on daily.

You will lead initiatives with a strong focus on AI-assisted development, modern CI/CD workflows, and robust testing. You will mentor peers, contribute to architectural decisions, and help raise the engineering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin and Java, including leadership on cross-functional projects.
• Strong knowledge of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system-level integrations.
• Proven ability to design and architect scalable, testable, reusable apps.
• Experience delivering modern, responsive, user-centric UIs with Material Design.
• Experience across mobile, embedded, and cloud systems to deliver cohesive product experiences.
• Experience developing clients for APIs and microservices.
• Strong proficiency with AI-augmented development workflows across code generation, test generation, and code review as part of SDLC.
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and tools (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Fastlane) and secure software delivery.
• Ability to perform manual QA alongside development work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication to stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features across NETGEAR's Android applications, focusing on scalability, performance, and usability.
• Take ownership of initiatives end to end, coordinating with cloud and embedded teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.
• Build and maintain test coverage (unit, integration, UI) alongside QA testing on features and releases.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to solve complex problems and propose improved methods.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape the app's technical direction.
• Champion best practices including code reviews and modern CI/CD and DevOps workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions).
• Mentor and support other engineers, acting as an informal technical lead.
• Seek out new tools and approaches, including AI development tools across the SDLC.
