Job summary

NETGEAR is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead features in our mobile apps, shaping the experience for millions of users. You will own end-to-end design and delivery, mentor engineers, and collaborate across mobile, cloud, and embedded teams.

You’ll apply AI-augmented development tools throughout the SDLC, drive modern CI/CD practices with GitHub Actions, and uphold high quality through code reviews and robust testing.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin and Java, including leadership on cross-functional projects.
• Strong knowledge of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system-level integrations.
• Solid design and architectural skills, with experience building scalable, testable, reusable applications.
• Proficiency in Material Design and building modern, responsive, user-centric UIs.
• Experience across mobile, embedded, and cloud systems to deliver cohesive product experiences.
• Experience developing clients for APIs and microservices.
• Strong proficiency with AI-augmented development workflows inside the SDLC.
• Working experience with DevOps pipelines and tools (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Fastlane).
• Comfortable performing manual QA alongside development work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features across NETGEAR's Android applications, with focus on scalability, performance, and usability.
• Take ownership of initiatives end-to-end, coordinating with cloud and embedded counterparts.
• Build and maintain test coverage (unit, integration, UI) alongside manual QA testing.
• Apply sound engineering judgement to solve complex problems and improve methods.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and shape the app's technical direction.
• Champion best practices including code reviews and modern CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
• Mentor and support other engineers as an informal technical lead.
• Actively seek new tools and AI-driven approaches throughout the SDLC.
