Job summary

NETGEAR is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to lead the AI Platform and Enablement team in Cork. You will own the core AI platform, model routing, evaluation, and tooling, and scale AI use across engineering and business units.

This role requires deep technical leadership and the ability to align architecture with NETGEAR's AI strategy. The position emphasizes enabling non-technical teams, building reusable patterns and guardrails, and driving measurable productivity gains while partnering

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience.
Production experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar).
Ability to simplify complex processes and automate to scale.
Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to deliver usable tech.
Strong design and architectural skills for distributed systems.
Proficiency in one or more of: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate the shared AI platform layer (model routing, API gateway, cost controls).
Own cost and usage optimisation across the organisation's AI spend.
Build evaluation, observability, and monitoring for LLM features and agents.
Define secure, scalable integration of AI capabilities into product and internal systems.
