Job summary

NETGEAR is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to shape and operate the AI Platform and Enablement team from our Cork office in a hybrid role. You will own the core AI platform, scale AI agents across engineering, and extend AI enablement into business functions with enterprise-scale impact.

You will lead architectural decisions, drive inter-team collaboration, and mentor engineers while delivering measurable AI-driven productivity and cost efficiency across NETGEAR.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership of technical initiatives.
• Hands-on production experience with LLM APIs and prompt design.
• Able to simplify complex business flows and automate them.
• Proven ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to deliver usable tech.
• Strong cost, performance, reliability optimisation in cloud or distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the shared AI platform layer and APIs.
• Own cost and usage optimisation across AI spend and workflows.
• Build evaluation, observability, and monitoring for AI features and agents.
• Lead enablement for AI coding agents across engineering teams.
• Partner with business units to identify high-value AI opportunities and automate workflows.
