Job summary

EirGrid Group in Ireland is seeking a Senior Analyst/Senior Engineer to join the Future Markets Team and lead analytical and delivery activities across multiple workstreams. The role focuses on delivering key market modifications to meet EU CEP Regulation 2019/943 requirements and support Ireland and Northern Ireland’s climate targets.

You will own defined work packages, develop high-quality analyses and materials, and coordinate with stakeholders under the guidance of a manager or workstream

Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualification in engineering, economics, business, data science, power systems or another relevant discipline.
• Understanding of electricity market arrangements, market design, system operations, energy policy or regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to analyse complex technical, commercial, regulatory or policy issues and translate them into clear recommendations and deliverables.
• Experience supporting workstreams, projects or programmes in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare papers, presentations, briefings and reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, regulatory authorities, industry participants and external partners.
• Good planning, organisation and delivery capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain focus on outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Programme Delivery, Market Design and Readiness: Support the development and implementation of Future Markets initiatives by delivering defined analysis, design inputs and implementation tasks within agreed scope and timelines.
• Prepare plans, deliverables and implementation materials for assigned work packages, highlighting progress, risks, dependencies and decisions for escalation where required.
• Work with programme management, operations, IT delivery, market operations, regulation and other teams to progress assigned activities and ensure outputs are aligned with wider delivery plans.
• Contribute to readiness planning by assessing impacts on people, processes, systems, codes, procedures and stakeholder communications for defined areas of responsibility.
• Technical, Analytical and Regulatory Support: Provide technical, analytical and market design input to support the development of proposals, options papers and implementation recommendations.
• Draft and refine papers, briefings, consultation inputs, regulatory material and decision-support documents for review by managers, workstream leads or accountable owners.
• Maintain knowledge of the Single Electricity Market, relevant market codes, EU legislation, regulatory decisions and emerging market developments.
• Identify and analyse risks, issues and dependencies within assigned areas, proposing practical mitigations for consideration by the relevant lead or manager.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Functional Working: Engage constructively with regulatory authorities, government departments, industry participants and internal stakeholders on assigned topics, representing the analysis and position agreed within the team.
• Support workshops, working groups, industry forums and stakeholder meetings by preparing material, presenting defined topics and capturing actions, issues and feedback.
• Collaborate across EirGrid Group functions to gather input, test assumptions and ensure assigned outputs reflect operational, system, commercial and regulatory requirements.
• Develop clear communications, presentations and briefing materials for internal and external audiences.
• Participate in working groups at EU level to present EirGrid’s position on specific topics. This may require travel to meetings abroad.
