Job summary

Bloomberg is seeking a Platform Engineer to define and operate AI platform tooling and observability across AI products and internal systems. You will build developer-friendly APIs, SDKs, and workflows, enabling experimentation, deployment, and evaluation of AI/agent-based systems with confidence.

You will collaborate across AI product, infrastructure, and platform teams to improve cost, performance, and reliability, while driving end-to-end ownership of projects from RFCs to production support.

Qualifications

• Experience building production software or platform systems.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems or backend platforms.
• Interest in observability and debugging complex systems.
• Interest in AI/ML systems, LLMs, or agent-based architectures.
• Strong ownership mindset; able to drive ambiguous problems to production.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools and multi-model workflows.
• Knowledge of agent architecture internals (context engineering, tool loops, sub-agent orchestration).

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve AI platform tooling, developer workflows, and benchmarking systems.
• Design developer-friendly APIs, SDKs, and interfaces for platform use.
• Contribute to systems across the Model Development Lifecycle (experimentation, deployment, evaluation).
• Build and operate observability platforms and telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces).
• Define instrumentation standards and enable end-to-end debugging of AI and agent workflows.
• Own projects end-to-end (RFCs, architecture, rollout, production support).
• Collaborate with AI teams to drive adoption of platform tooling and standards.
