Needl is expanding its Dublin-based AI engineering team. Senior Engineers will own technical decisions and delivery from design to production, focusing on building production-grade LLM applications and AI workflows.

You'll join a small, experienced team working closely with engineering leadership, architecture, and product to ship features from concept to production and maintain reliable, observable systems.

Qualifications

• Experience building LLM applications, with at least one working LLM product shipped to production.
• Strong software engineering experience, typically 5+ years.
• Solid production development experience in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM-based applications.
• An understanding of agentic architectures, RAG and the engineering needed to make AI systems reliable.
• Experience owning technical problems and taking solutions through to production.
• Daily use of AI-assisted development tools.

Responsabilités

• Build multi-step AI agents using tool calling, orchestration and context management.
• Develop RAG architectures that connect models with relevant source information.
• Produce reliable outputs through schema validation and failure handling.
• Build backend services and runtimes that support AI workflows.
• Take early-stage systems into production through versioning, testing and observability.

Needl is partnering with a business growing its Dublin-based AI engineering team.

We’re hiring Senior Engineers to build production AI products, with opportunities spanning Agent Systems & Platforms.

You’ll join a small, experienced team, working closely with engineering leadership, architecture and product.

These are hands‑on roles with ownership of technical decisions and delivery from early design through to production.

A must is having experience building LLM applications, with at least one product or significant feature shipped to production. Experience taking a product from concept or proof of concept through to launch would be a strong advantage.

What you’ll work on

Depending on your strengths, your focus will include:

• Building multi-step AI agents using tool calling, orchestration and context management.


• Developing RAG architectures that connect models with relevant, traceable source information.


• Producing reliable, structured outputs through schema validation, evaluation and failure handling.


• Building the backend services and runtime that support AI workflows.


• Taking early‑stage systems into production through configuration management, versioning, tenant isolation, testing and observability.

What we’re looking for

• Experience building LLM applications, with at least one working LLM product shipped to production.


• Strong software engineering experience, typically 5+ years.


• Solid production development experience in Python and/or TypeScript.


• Hands‑on experience shipping LLM-based applications.


• An understanding of agentic architectures, RAG and the engineering needed to make AI systems reliable.
