Job summary

RECRUITERS in Ireland is seeking a hands-on Senior AI Engineer to design, build and deploy Agentic AI applications and multi-agent systems in production. You will lead architecture and development across AI platforms, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.

The role offers a six-month contract with potential for permanent transition, in Dublin, Cork or Limerick. Up to €150K yearly or a €760 daily rate, reflecting seniority and production impact.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Agentic AI applications and Multi-Agent Systems in production environments.
• Build and enhance Agent Harnesses, including orchestration, tool execution, state management and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop AI architectures incorporating Knowledge Graphs to support intelligent reasoning and information retrieval.
• Write production-quality Python code, develop APIs and build scalable distributed applications.
• Take end-to-end ownership of AI solutions, from business requirements and architecture through development, testing and delivery.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks, engineering standards and reliable production workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects and Engineering teams to translate complex business challenges into practical AI solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, contribute to architectural decisions and mentor engineers while remaining actively involved in coding.

AI Engineer | Ireland | Up to €150K or €760 Daily Rate

Location: Dublin, Cork or Limerick

Contract: Initial 6 months, with the expectation of transitioning to a permanent position

Are you a hands-on Senior AI Engineer passionate about building production-ready Agentic AI solutions?

You'll work on large-scale Generative AI applications, Agentic AI systems and multi-agent architectures, supporting platforms used by approximately 18,000 users daily and handling hundreds of thousands of requests.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on development, solution architecture and technical leadership while contributing to AI applications already operating in production.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and deploy Agentic AI applications and Multi-Agent Systems in production environments.
• Build and enhance Agent Harnesses, including orchestration, tool execution, state management and supporting infrastructure.

Must Have - We're particularly interested in engineers with strong practical experience across the following areas:

• Agentic AI & Multi-Agent Systems: Proven hands-on experience designing, developing and implementing agent-based AI applications, ideally deployed in production.
• Knowledge Graphs: Practical experience integrating Knowledge Graphs into AI applications and architectures.
• Agent Harness Engineering: Experience designing or developing agent harnesses, orchestration frameworks and supporting AI agent infrastructure.
• Python: Strong hands-on Python programming and software development skills.
• Software Engineering: Solid engineering fundamentals, including APIs, distributed systems and scalable application development.
• Solution Architecture: Ability to design technical solutions and independently deliver them from concept to production.
• Context & Evaluation Engineering: Experience with context engineering, AI evaluation approaches and application testing.
• Specification-Driven Development: Experience translating structured requirements into working technical solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Ability to advise engineering teams, influence technical decisions and mentor colleagues while continuing to write code.

Important:

This is a hands-on AI Engineering position, not a traditional Data Scientist, research-focused Machine Learning Engineer or architecture-only role.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and advanced retrieval architectures.
• Exposure to LLMOps, AgentOps and production AI monitoring.
• Experience developing Multimodal AI applications, including voice, image and text.
• Familiarity with MCP, A2A, tool calling and AI interoperability frameworks.
• Experience contributing to reusable AI engineering patterns and standards across teams.
