Job summary

VIOTAS is seeking a Senior R&D Programme Manager to lead the programme management capability within VIOTAS Innovation. You will report to the Director of Innovation and help create a prioritized, evidence-led portfolio across technology, product, market, research and strategy.

The role covers cross-functional programmes, AI-assisted tracking, governance and concise reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board. Hybrid work in Limerick or Dublin is supported.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex programmes or portfolios.
• Senior stakeholder management with executive reporting.
• Experience with business cases, finances, benefits, risks and governance.
• Experience applying AI, automation or analytics to delivery.
• Experience engaging with funding bodies and funding applications.
• Judgement to redirect resources and pause or stop work when needed.
• Recognised programme or project-management qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Programme manage an integrated Innovation portfolio across major programmes and initiatives.
• Coordinate prioritisation, capacity planning, dependencies and benefits tracking.
• Introduce AI-assisted tracking and portfolio governance with oversight.
• Provide concise, decision-ready reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board.
• Lead or assure complex cross-functional programmes and recovery if off track.
• Develop opportunity-scanning across energy, AI, analytics, cloud, edge tech and cybersecurity.
• Manage strategic experiments with clear hypotheses, budgets and scale-or-stop decisions.
• Engage with funding bodies, lead applications and reporting.
• Develop robust business cases and work with Finance on value, cost and risk.
• Build a practical Programme Office to improve decisions without bureaucracy.
