Job summary

VIOTAS (Electricity Exchange) seeks a Senior R&D Programme Manager to build and lead VIOTAS Innovation's portfolio, spanning technology, product, market, research and strategic options. You will drive prioritisation, governance and AI-assisted tracking to support informed investment decisions and funding engagements.

Reporting to the Director of Innovation, you will lead complex cross-functional programmes, build a robust Programme Office and collaborate with national and European funding bodies

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex programmes or portfolios in technology, energy, engineering, or regulated environments.
• Strong senior stakeholder management and executive reporting experience.
• Experience with business cases, governance, risks, and benefits tracking.
• Experience engaging with funding bodies and coordinating funding opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prioritisation, capacity planning, dependency management, scenario analysis and benefits tracking.
• Introduce AI-assisted tracking, reporting, risk detection and portfolio optimisation with governance.
• Provide concise, decision-ready reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board.
• Lead cross-functional programmes and recover when delivery is off track.
• Build a structured opportunity-scanning process across energy markets, grid services, DER, storage, AI, analytics, cloud, edge tech and cybersecurity.
• Develop robust business cases and work with Finance to assess value, cost, risk and option value.
• Build a practical, high-value Programme Office that improves decisions without extra bureaucracy.
