Job description

Company Overview

Your new company is a highly respected and long-established accountancy and business advisory practice with an excellent reputation across the Mid-West business community. Built on strong client relationships and a genuinely consultative approach, the firm partners with a diverse portfolio of ambitious owner-managed businesses, SMEs and growing organisations, providing strategic guidance that extends far beyond traditional accountancy services.

The practice is entering an exciting phase of its evolution. Significant expansion plans are underway, with the leadership team actively exploring opportunities that will further strengthen the firm's market position and create new opportunities for both clients and staff. This forward-thinking approach, combined with a strong reputation in the local market, makes it an exciting time to join a business that has ambitious plans for the future.

The firm's leadership team are passionate about developing people, building relationships and creating a culture where talented professionals can thrive. As a result of continued growth, they are now seeking to appoint an Accounting Manager who can play a key role in the next chapter of the firm's success.

The Role

This is a leadership position suited to an individual who wants to move beyond the traditional practice accounting environment and become a genuine business advisor to clients while developing a team and contributing to the strategic growth of the firm.

Working closely with business owners, entrepreneurs and senior management teams, you will act as a trusted commercial partner, helping clients navigate key business decisions, improve performance and identify opportunities for growth. Rather than focusing solely on compliance and year-end delivery, you will build long-term relationships with clients and provide valuable commercial insight that supports their wider business objectives.

You will lead and develop a talented team, ensuring the highest standards of client delivery while mentoring and supporting the next generation of accounting professionals. The role will also involve working closely with the firm's leadership team on practice development initiatives, client growth strategies and future expansion plans.

This is a highly visible role requiring someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement, networking and relationship building. The successful candidate will become an important ambassador for the firm within the wider business community and will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the organisation.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be an exerienced and ambitious qualified accountant with a strong background in practice and a reputation for delivering excellent client service. While technical ability is important, the firm is ultimately seeking someone with strong commercial acumen who enjoys engaging with business owners and developing meaningful client relationships.

You will be naturally curious about how businesses operate and comfortable discussing challenges and opportunities with clients across a wide variety of sectors. Strong stakeholder management skills will be essential, along with the ability to build trust, influence decision-making and deliver practical advice that creates value.

The position would suit an accomplished general practice professional who enjoys being client-facing and wants to play a more strategic role within a growing organisation. Experience managing and developing teams is highly desirable, as is a genuine interest in leadership and business development.

Most importantly, this opportunity is aimed at ambitious individuals who see their future extending beyond management level. The firm is looking for someone who wants to become a long-term leader within the business and who is excited by the prospect of helping drive future growth and expansion.

What's On Offer

A highly competitive salary package is available for the right individual, alongside excellent long-term career prospects. With ambitious expansion plans already underway and a clear focus on developing future leaders, the role offers a genuine pathway towards Director and Partner level in the coming years.

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly regarded regional practice at a significant point in its growth journey. The successful candidate will gain exposure to an excellent client base, work closely with an experienced leadership team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the future direction of the business.

For a commercially minded practice professional who enjoys working with people, building client relationships and helping businesses succeed, this represents a unique opportunity to join a growing firm where your contribution will be visible, valued and rewarded.
