Your new company is one of the fastest-growing Irish owned businesses in the Mid-West region, backed by significant investment and operating within a highly ambitious growth environment. With the business experiencing substantial year-on-year expansion, this is an opportunity to join an organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey where finance plays a central role in supporting growth, improving processes, and driving better commercial decision-making.
Working closely with an experienced Director of Finance, you will gain exposure well beyond a traditional financial accounting position, allowing you to develop both your technical accounting expertise and broader commercial finance skills within a dynamic, entrepreneurial business.
This is a broad and hands-on Senior Accountant position that will give you ownership across core financial accounting activities while also providing increasing exposure to reporting, business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis.
You will take responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and internal control requirements. You will also play a key role in preparing monthly management reporting, supporting statutory accounts preparation, and assisting with audit processes. Responsibilities are aligned with the official role specification.
Beyond financial accounting, you will gain exposure to cash flow reporting, accounts payable and receivable oversight, budgeting and forecasting activities, variance analysis, and the preparation of meaningful financial insights to support decision-making across the business. The role will involve regular interaction with project managers, quantity surveyors, contracts teams, and senior leadership, providing an excellent platform to develop strong business partnering skills. Responsibilities include variance analysis, budget monitoring, cash flow management, and collaboration with operational teams as outlined in the job specification.
For someone looking to build a strong technical foundation while gradually moving towards a more commercially focused finance career, this represents a unique opportunity to accelerate your development within a supportive and rapidly scaling organisation.
You will be a recently qualified or qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with strong financial accounting fundamentals and a desire to broaden your experience across a growing business.
You will have experience of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and working within a controlled accounting environment. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and management reporting would be highly advantageous, while experience within construction, property, real estate, or project-based environments would be beneficial but not essential. Key skills sought include analytical ability, strong communication, problem-solving capability, organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Most importantly, you will be ambitious, eager to learn, and excited by the opportunity to gain exposure across the full finance function while developing towards a future leadership role.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a business with significant growth plans and genuine long-term career progression potential. You will work closely with an experienced finance leader who is committed to mentoring and developing talent, while gaining exposure to all areas of finance within a high-growth business environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from a role that combines strong technical accounting exposure with increasing involvement in budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis, and business partnering. As the company continues to scale, there will be significant opportunities to expand your responsibilities, develop leadership capabilities, and establish yourself as a key member of the finance team.
For accountants looking to move beyond a traditional reporting role and develop into a commercially focused finance professional, this is an exceptional career opportunity.
