Security Operations Manager

We are partnering with a global professional services organisation to appoint a Security Operations Manager into a key leadership position within its international cyber security function.

This is an opportunity to lead a globally distributed Security Operations capability, managing teams across multiple jurisdictions while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, incident response readiness, and SOC maturity initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the effective operation of a 24/7 security function, working closely with regional security leaders and technical teams to identify, assess, and respond to emerging cyber threats across a complex enterprise environment.

The Opportunity

This role combines people leadership, operational oversight and strategic improvement. You will be responsible for leading an established team while driving enhancements across security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and automation initiatives.

You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, risk and audit stakeholders, ensuring security operations remain aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop an international Security Operations team operating within a follow-the-sun model.
  • Oversee security monitoring, alert triage, threat hunting and incident response activities.
  • Act as a senior escalation point during significant cyber security incidents.
  • Drive SOC maturity initiatives with a focus on automation, process optimisation and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and monitor meaningful security metrics and reporting.
  • Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts across technical teams.
  • Support audits, control testing and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure and business stakeholders globally.
  • Ensure operational processes, documentation and knowledge-sharing practices remain effective and up to date.
About You
  • Significant experience within Security Operations, Incident Response or SOC environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience managing technical cyber security teams within large-scale or global organisations.
  • Experience operating within highly regulated, governance-driven environments.
  • Strong knowledge of security monitoring, threat detection and incident response processes.
  • Experience working with SIEM, EDR and security automation technologies.
  • The ability to balance operational delivery with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.

Working Arrangements
