Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a dedicated Security Officer in Tralee, Kerry. The role involves welcoming visitors, controlling access, monitoring CCTV, and coordinating with client security to ensure safety and compliance.

You will handle emergencies, maintain records, and support contractors within a dynamic facilities environment. Enhanced training, robust safeguarding checks, and opportunities to grow within the Sodexo team are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid PSA License is essential.
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for visitors and staff; remain professional and helpful at all times.
• Greet visitors and staff in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Manage internal security including access control and CCTV; liaise with client security.
• Deal with emergencies including fire and bomb scares; inform building occupants.
• Assist third party contractors/visitors; ensure site procedures are followed.
• Liaise with authorities; handle incidents and provide information.
• Monitor site radio systems and maintain proper radio procedures.
• Maintain site records including Health & Safety forms and incident logs.
• Issue badges and manage visitor logs; conduct patrols using the Patrol Management system.
• Operate CCTV and alarm systems; perform designated access control duties.
• Ensure building open/lock procedures are followed; manage employee badges.
• Oversee Fire evacuation and emergency protocols as Fire Warden.
• Any other duties as required to meet business needs.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Security Officer to join our team and play a key role in driving excellence and innovation in Facilities.

What you'll do:

• As the first point of contact for visitors, staff and the public be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous and helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties to the highest levels.
• Greet visitors and staff in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Manage internal security including access control and CCTV cameras, liaise with client security who are responsible for external and car park security
• To deal efficiently and effectively with emergencies including fire and bomb scares ensuring building occupants are kept fully informed at all times.
• Provide assistance to third party contractors / visitors ensuring all site procedures / policies are adhered too.
• To liaise closely with statutory authorities, dealing with incidents and the provision of information.
• Maintain continuous monitoring of site radio systems as applicable adhering to correct radio procedures at all times.
• Diligent management and maintenance of site records / reference materials including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms and the site occurrence book
• Issue badges and maintain key control and visitor logs.
• Conduct building patrols as required using Company Patrol Management system
• Complete all required documentation in a professional manner
• Operate CCTV and Alarms systems
• Perform designated access control duties
• Ensure building open/lock up is carried out as per procedures
• Responsible for employee badge management.
• Manage full Fire evacuation and emergency protocols (act as Fire Warden).
• First Aid & Defibrillator trained
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
