Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in Dublin is seeking an experienced SDET to design, implement and run robust test automation across UI, API, backend and data systems, ensuring high-quality software for millions of users.

This role focuses on backend and data quality, with strong SQL testing and hands-on validation of databases and data pipelines using Snowflake and Databricks; you will build scalable automation, contribute to CI/CD quality gates and improve testing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software testing or quality engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on test automation across API/backend/UI.
• Strong SQL skills for testing databases.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks or similar platforms.
• Experience testing data pipelines/ETL workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies, plans and cases across UI, API, backend and data systems.
• Develop and execute SQL-based testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Test data pipelines and transformations across Snowflake and Databricks.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to define test coverage and quality goals.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, backend and end-to-end testing.
• Create reusable test utilities and libraries; enhance existing automation frameworks.
