Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in Dublin is seeking a Senior SDET to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies across UI, API, and backend systems. You will build robust automation and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure high-quality releases.

The role emphasizes shift-left testing, continuous improvement of QA practices, and a hybrid on-site requirement (1–2 days/week) in Dublin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing, including designing and executing test plans and test cases.
• 3+ years of hands-on UI and API test automation for web and/or mobile apps.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Selenium and/or Appium for automation.
• Strong API testing using Postman, REST Assured, GraphQL, or gRPC.
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Docker and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases across UI, API, and backend systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define test coverage early.
• Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Improve quality practices by introducing new standards, tools, and processes.
• Develop reusable test utilities and libraries to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks for scalability and performance.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
• Analyze test results, identify defect root causes, and drive timely resolutions.
• Advocate for shift-left testing throughout the software lifecycle.
