Job summary

Cpl is sourcing a Software Engineer in Test to join a large US financial services company on a contract basis. The role focuses on applying strong software development and test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve customer-facing software solutions.

The ideal candidate will design and build applications using test automation frameworks, participate in CI/CD pipelines, and enable the team with robust testing practices while collaborating with remote,

Qualifications

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field.
• 6 to 9 years of experience with designing and building front-end and webservice applications while incorporating test automation frameworks.
• Working experience with: Ruby (or Java); Cucumber; Javascript; HTTP; RESTful web services; Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Influence better software design by applying testing and testability knowledge; promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies.
• Write and maintain application features and automated tests including unit, component, integration, functional, performance, scenario and interoperability tests.
• Design reliable, portable, accurate and trustworthy tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with teammates to improve test coverage, release velocity and production health.
• Develop automation harnesses using Ruby or Java with Cucumber and SOA Test.
• Participate in code and test code reviews with the Scrum team.
• Develop using Javascript/Angular and Webservices/HTTP.
