Job summary

Northern Trust in Ireland is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to support Agile delivery teams across a range of technology initiatives. You will facilitate ceremonies, coach teams, maintain healthy backlogs, remove impediments and help the squad stay aligned with sprint commitments.

Working closely with Product Owners and developers, you will foster collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement, track progress with delivery metrics, and promote practices that deliver high quality software

Qualifications

• Experience as Scrum Master/Agile Delivery Lead or similar delivery-focused role.
• Strong understanding of Scrum principles and Agile methodologies.
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with Product Owners to manage backlogs.
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence.
• Scrum certification (PSM, CSM or equivalent) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Support Product Owners and delivery teams with backlog refinement, prioritisation and sprint readiness.
• Help teams plan and manage their work effectively, ensuring sprint goals and commitments remain visible and achievable.
• Identify and help remove impediments that may impact delivery progress.
• Track risks, issues and dependencies and elevate where appropriate.
• Use Agile tools and delivery metrics to monitor progress and provide transparency to stakeholders.
• Promote collaboration between Product Owners, developers and key stakeholders.
• Encourage Agile best practices and support teams in continuously improving how they work.
• Help maintain a positive team environment focused on delivery, accountability and continuous learning.
