Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our catering team at Rathdown School in Glenageary, Co. Dublin. This term-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm, at €15.50 per hour. Career development opportunities and access to our employee benefits package are available.

You will assist with preparation, cooking and presenting meals to high standards while ensuring food safety and customer service. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment is desirable.
• A relevant culinary qualification is desirable.
• A genuine interest in food and willingness to develop your skills.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety and allergen requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in food presentation.
• Good organisation and communication skills.
• A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of food to required standards.
• Support delivery of menus in line with Sodexo guidelines and customer requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety.
• Support stock control, storage and food cost management.
• Serve customers professionally and provide welcoming service.
• Support the team with functions and events when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment.
• Work with colleagues and support new team members.
• Attend training and follow Sodexo/client procedures.
