Job summary

Sodexo is looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our catering team at Rathdown School in Glenageary, Co. Dublin. This term-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm, at €15.50 per hour.

You’ll support food preparation, keep high standards of hygiene, and help deliver nutritious meals while developing your skills with our Sodexo benefits package. Experience in professional kitchen desirable; training provided; safeguarding checks apply; a supportive team

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment is desirable.
• A relevant culinary qualification is desirable.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety and allergen requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, cooking and presentation of food to required standards.
• Support delivery of menus in line with Sodexo guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and health and safety.
• Support effective stock control, storage and food cost management.
• Serve customers professionally and provide a welcoming service.
• Attend training and follow all Sodexo and client procedures.

Sodexo is looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our catering team at Rathdown School.

Working alongside the Chef Manager and wider kitchen team, you'll support the preparation and service of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service.

What you'll do:

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of food to the required standards
• Support the delivery of menus in line with Sodexo guidelines and customer requirements
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety
• Support effective stock control, storage and food cost management
• Serve customers professionally and provide a welcoming service
• Support the team with functions and events when required
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support new team members where required
• Attend relevant training and follow all Sodexo and client procedures

What you'll bring:

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment is desirable
• A relevant culinary qualification is desirable
• A genuine interest in food and willingness to develop your skills
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety and allergen requirements
• Strong attention to detail and pride in food presentation
• Good organisation and communication skills
• A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach
