Job summary

Weltec Engineering Limited in County Kildare is seeking a Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our on-site team. You will develop and optimize schedules for large-scale engineering and construction programs, coordinating with project managers and engineers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project scheduling within construction, proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Excel and PowerPoint, and a degree in a relevant field.

• Relevant third-level degree.
• 5+ years of project scheduling experience in construction.
• Proficient with Primavera P6 and MS Office.
• Strong coordination with stakeholders.
• Able to work on-site in Kildare.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Track progress vs. plan, update forecasts and report variances with root-cause analysis.
• Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities; develop mitigation strategies and recovery plans.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams to validate dependencies and deliverables.
• Produce weekly/monthly schedule reports, dashboards, look‑ahead, and critical‑path analyses for leadership.
• Manage schedule change requests, ensuring impacts are assessed and approved through governance.
• Run “what‑if” analyses to support decision‑making, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
• Enhance planning processes, templates, and standards across the PMO or project delivery organisation.

Weltec Engineering Limited, a dynamic and expanding company, is seeking a talented Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Kildare. In this unique role, you will be based on site, while also immersing yourself in on‑site project coordination as required.

The Project Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules for large‑scale engineering, construction, or technology programmes. This role provides critical planning intelligence, drives schedule governance, and partners closely with project managers, engineering leads, and stakeholders to ensure predictable execution.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Project Scheduling — Build, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring logical sequencing, resource alignment, and achievable timelines.

Progress Tracking — Monitor actual progress vs. plan, update schedule forecasts, and report variances with clear root‑cause analysis.

Risk & Opportunity Management — Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities; develop mitigation strategies and recovery plans.

Stakeholder Coordination — Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams to validate assumptions, dependencies, and deliverables.

Reporting & Governance — Produce weekly/monthly schedule reports, dashboards, look‑ahead, and critical‑path analyses for leadership and clients.

Change Control — Manage schedule change requests, ensuring impacts are assessed, documented, and approved through formal governance.

Key Skills and Competencies

Relevant Third‑Level Degree.

Over 5 years of industry experience.

Proven Project Planning/Scheduling experience within the Construction sector.

Familiarity with Lean Last Planner methodology.

Proficient in IT tools: Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
