Job summary

IT Search is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Developer to shape the future of our SAP Centre of Excellence in Ireland. You will own administration, support, and optimization across development, test and production environments.

You will lead installations, upgrades, transports, performance tuning, and security, collaborating with architects, developers and business stakeholders to define the technical roadmap and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial experience as an SAP Basis Developer/Administrator.
• Strong expertise across SAP Basis administration, installations, upgrades, transport management, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting complex SAP landscapes and business-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the administration, support, and optimisation of our SAP landscape across development, test, and production environments.
• Lead SAP installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, and system refreshes.
• Drive system performance, availability, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Manage transport management, technical governance, and system security.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, architects, and business teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to the long-term SAP strategy and roadmap.

We're looking for an experienced SAP Basis Developer to play a pivotal role in establishing and growing our new SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE). This is more than a traditional Basis position—it's an opportunity to influence strategy, drive technical excellence, and help build the foundations of a modern SAP landscape.

As a key member of the team, you'll work alongside architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver a robust, scalable, and future-ready SAP platform. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to transformation initiatives, champion best practices, and help define the technical roadmap as the Centre of Excellence evolves.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Proven commercial experience as an SAP Basis Developer/Administrator.
• Strong expertise across SAP Basis administration, installations, upgrades, transport management, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting complex SAP landscapes and business-critical environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for driving continuous improvement.

Highly Desirable Experience

We're particularly interested in candidates who can bring experience in one or more of the following:

• ABAP development and debugging.
• SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• SAP Fiori administration or development.
• SAP Content Management Services (CMS).
• Cloud-hosted SAP platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM.

This is a day rate contract role with immediate interview. Candidates must be willing to complete some onsite per week in Dublin.
