Methodius Ltd. is seeking a Senior SAP HR & Payroll Solution Specialist to join our IT Service Delivery team in Dublin. You will lead daily support, maintenance and improvements of SAP HR and Payroll apps, driving critical projects and system enhancements with IT and business stakeholders.

You will function as SME for SAP HR/Payroll, support S/4HANA, Cloud, and UK/Irish payroll, plus SAP Concur and SuccessFactors, while ensuring quality documentation and audit-ready artefacts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on functional SAP experience across ERP, S/4HANA and/or SAP Cloud.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into SAP solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and/or UK Payroll within SAP environments.
• Experience across the full SAP project lifecycle from scoping through go-live.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for SAP HR and Payroll solutions.
• Provide functional support for SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud, and UK & Irish Payroll systems.
• Support SAP Concur and SAP SuccessFactors applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Participate in SAP projects and deliver change requests from scoping to implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and optimise the SAP landscape.
• Gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
• Produce functional specs and complete system configuration.
• Coordinate and support testing (functional, integration, regression, UAT).
• Collaborate with leads to identify and manage project risks.
• Ensure documentation supports audit requirements and knowledge transfer.
• Share knowledge with the SAP support team.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior SAP HR & Payroll Solution Specialist to join their established IT Service Delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and enhancing SAP solutions that underpin critical HR and Payroll business functions across the organisation.

Working closely with both IT teams and business stakeholders, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support, maintenance and continuous improvement of SAP HR and Payroll applications, while contributing to a range of business-critical projects and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Act as the subject matter expert for the client’s SAP HR and Payroll solutions.
• Provide functional support for SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud, and UK & Irish Payroll systems.
• Support and maintain SAP Concur and SAP SuccessFactors applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve business support incidents in a timely manner.
• Participate in SAP projects and deliver change requests from initial scoping through to implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and optimise the SAP landscape.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
• Produce functional specifications and complete system configuration to support business requirements.
• Coordinate and support functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with Team Leads, Delivery Leads, Functional SMEs and Solution Architects to identify and manage project risks.
• Ensure appropriate documentation is produced to support audit requirements and knowledge transfer.
• Share knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues across the wider SAP support team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong functional SAP expertise alongside excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven hands-on functional experience with SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP Cloud, including:
  • Business process analysis and definition
  • System configuration
  • Functional specification development
  • Functional, integration, regression and performance testing
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into effective SAP solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and/or UK Payroll within an SAP environment.
• Experience supporting SAP HR and Payroll applications within a complex enterprise environment.
• Solid understanding of SAP testing methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to produce clear functional documentation and project artefacts to support delivery, audit and ongoing application support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working across the full SAP project lifecycle, from requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing and post-go-live support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Concur.
• Experience using HP Quality Centre (ALM) for test management, including creating and executing test scripts and defect management.
• Previous experience working on large-scale SAP transformation or implementation programmes.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, mentoring experience or the ability to lead workstreams would be highly advantageous.
